INFORMED CITIZENS is seeking Legislators to sponsor a bill to be titled:

GOVERNMENT ATTORNEY ACCOUNTABILITY ACT

On the Houston Chronicle Blog a Father attempted to defend an Assistant Attorney General of Texas, his daughter, with these clichés she apparently gave him.

1 – You don’t "fold up your tent" simply because the stone cold facts have been established at trial and by prior adjudication.

2 – You do your best to "put lipstick on a pig".

THIS is how he justified imposing upon the Citizen of Texas (the other party), and on the public treasury funded by all private Citizens of Texas – the taxpayers - imposing the burden and expense of vexatious & frivolous litigation, in the name of THE STATE.

He then asserted his daughter was "the most decent and honorable" Attorney employed under the supervision, management, and regulation of Greg Abbot – or, more likely, the lack thereof -.

Obviously he does not know the LAW that governs the conduct of a person granted the privilege of a license to practice law and the privilege of a salary from our treasury. See Law governing Attorneys.

YES – Every Attorney has a LEGAL and FIDUCIARY duty to "fold up their tent" when facts are not subject to question and the relevant law is not subject to reasonable dispute.

NO – The Law bars an Attorney from "putting lipstick on a pig", as an excuse to impose the burden and expense of unnecessary litigation on the opposing party and the party they represent. This is particularly true when they represent a public entity – the STATE. It is Obstruction of Justice, misrepresenting the facts and the law, to assert ugly is pretty.

Ever Attorney has a LEGAL and FIDUCIARY duty to tell their supervising Attorney that they will NOT violate the Law that governs their license and/or position of public service. Failure to do so is indecent and dishonorable, as well as illegal.

His daughter lacks the courage to do what is decent and honorable because (1) she will advance in the Greg Abbott’s Office if she does not, and (2) timid , self-serving, Judicial Officials and the State Bar will not enforce the Laws upon her or her supervising lawyer, (Greg Abbott), and; (3) even if the law is enforced, statutory law of past legislators will stick the public treasury with the sanctions imposed upon her. There are no consequences for her indecent and dishonorable conduct, but there is reward for it.

This is NOT the system of justice envisioned by those that established it. But it is what has evolved. It is time - long past time – this be addressed for the dignity of our State of Texas so that Liberty and Justice may once again prevail on our Land for our people.
